I think that Madelyn was the reason I felt that I should actually need to start. Today, for the second morning in a row she peed in the potty. I can only imagine that some people reading this have decided to turn away, but for those of you still tuned in, this is big. I had not even imagined starting her on the potty until next summer. Primarily for my own selfish reasons. I will be home with her, hopefully before my full time teaching position begins. And she will be a bit bigger, her vocabulary will be a bit more advanced which may prevent me from getting inevitably frustrated by this process that I have read can take months and months before we reach the summit of a dry day and night.
But you see Madelyn likes to do things at her pace. She is quite amazing. Her daddy was spending the morning with her and just because it was in her bedroom he put her on the potty. She sat there for about two minutes, he claims that he thought she was just sitting there, he got her up to put her diaper back on and VOILA! he looked in the potty and low and behold there was a little pile of piddle in the bottom of the pot. I think she is aware we have been reading all of the hysterical potty books that I have in my library and wanted to be the star of her own potty
The funny part of this whole situation is yesterday in my Diverse Learners in Mathematics class I brought in a diaper as my household object I have a ton of and started thinking about doing a cost analysis of several diaper brands, to ensure I am getting the best deal (coupons and all). I am hoping that maybe my current life will only contain maybe a case or two more of Luvs, so think that it might be a waste of my very precious potty training time.
All this being said I am open to any tips that might make this process a bit smoother. Especially from busy families with even busier households. I promise I will limit the number of potty posts, but cannot limit them in their entirity.
So here is to the prettiest little redhead I know! On the beginning of her potty adventures.
